Re-opening of Church for public Mass
Dear friends,
For the past three months we have been unable to gather as a community to celebrate the Eucharist in our church. This has been a great loss to us individually and as a parish community.
With the gradual easing of the Covid 19 restrictions, we are delighted to welcome you back to our church for public Mass from Monday 29th June, although with significant changes to the way we gather. In order to keep all of us safe and to comply with current health and safety protocols, we are restricted in the number of people we can accommodate.
So that we can facilitate as many of you as possible in joining in the celebration of the Eucharist, we ask you to come to Mass on one day of the week only for the present (The Sunday obligation remains suspended during this time).
Due to our large congregations it will be necessary to book for all weekday and weekend Masses. We would encourage those of you who are free to book for a week day to do so. For those of you who are not able to return to Mass at this time, we will continue to livestream on Facebook. These arrangements are temporary and will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Masses will return to the normal times; Monday to Friday 9.30am. Saturday 6.30pm. Sunday 9.30am and 11.30am.
The Booking system is as follows:
Tickets will be available in the porch of the church on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 25th June from 2pm to 5pm and on Sunday 28th June from 12.30 – 1.30pm, for Masses for the week beginning 29th June.
When you book, you will be asked for your contact details as they may be needed for contact tracing purposes. You will be given a colour coded tag with which you may be admitted when you come to your booked Mass. Please follow the directions of the ushers.
For those of you who wish to come to the weekend Masses but who have not been successful in gaining a ticket for admittance to the church or for those of you who do not feel comfortable attending indoors due to health concerns, it will be possible for you to sit in your cars in the car park and listen to the Mass on the church loudspeakers or watch it on your phone in your car. Communion will be brought to you outdoors. Instruction will be given on this during Mass.
We thank you sincerely for your patience and co-operation in these efforts to keep everyone safe and we look forward to welcoming you back.
